Package: ntp Version: 1:4.2.6.p3+dfsg-3 Followup-For: Bug #601519 Dear Maintainer,
This bug is still occurring on Debian testing. I have several routers that are running NTP on VLANs on top of a bonded network interface. If there are no other IPv6 capable devices on a paricular VLAN, the interface is left tentative/detection failed, and ntpd will try to bind, failing with: Feb 22 15:47:25 host ntpd[24064]: bind(38) AF_INET6 fe80::be30:5bff:fedf:9980%18#123 flags 0x11 failed: Cannot assign requested address Feb 22 15:47:25 host ntpd[24064]: unable to create socket on interface (474312) for fe80::be30:5bff:fedf:9980#123 Feb 22 15:47:25 host ntpd[24064]: failed to init interface for address fe80::be30:5bff:fedf:9980 ntpd seems to be trying to bind about every 10 seconds, so the amount of log noise is very great. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (500, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ntp depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu1 ii dpkg 1.16.1.2 ii libc6 2.13-26 ii libcap2 1:2.22-1 ii libedit2 2.11-20080614-3 ii libopts25 1:5.12-0.1 ii lsb-base 3.2-28.1 ii netbase 4.47 Versions of packages ntp recommends: ii perl 5.14.2-7 Versions of packages ntp suggests: pn ntp-doc <none> -- Configuration Files: /etc/ntp.conf changed: driftfile /var/lib/ntp/ntp.drift statistics loopstats peerstats clockstats filegen loopstats file loopstats type day enable filegen peerstats file peerstats type day enable filegen clockstats file clockstats type day enable server ntp-3.vt.edu iburst server clock1.unc.edu iburst server clock-1.cs.cmu.edu iburst server ntp-1.cso.uiuc.edu iburst restrict -4 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery restrict -6 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery restrict 127.0.0.1 restrict ::1 restrict 10.1.0.9 kod notrap nomodify nopeer -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
