Hello, There's a bug on mindi that looks similar to this one :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=329246 mindi creates a boot CD that uses busybox. With libc6_ 2.3.5-6, the boot CD doesn't work, init and the shell exhibit the same PATH problem as the example bug you give. I tried the patch you provided and it didn't change anything.
