IIRC my previous experiences involved CONFIG_SHELL=dash fixes. (I use a version of dash supporting the LINENO variable and would like to see LINENO support in sid some day). Toolchain changes are as likely to affect Thomas's packages as others, unfortunately. He is a receptive upstream but the extra effort is a waste. Some of Thomas's packages build fine with stock autoconf. Maybe this package won't have to live long. Thanks for the explanations.
