Package: asterisk Version: 1.8.8.2~dfsg-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
This may be the same root cause as #481702 - the symptoms are somewhat similar. For my asterisk system, I was using IAX2 with trunking enabled. The call quality (outgoing voice only) was bad - skips, sub-second silences inserted, and what sounded like encoder problems. I consulted the mailing list, and a few useful things were learned: - I was using trunking. By turning trunking off, the problem vanished. - A Digium employee (developer?) told me there was a very recently discovered/fix bug in the IAX2 code, and that the fix is in the current SVN. - A cursory look at the Asterisk SVN repository shows r355746 and possibly r355793. There are a couple of additional commits around the same time that seem to deal with IAX2 trunking (r355458, r355448). - So while I know the fix is in SVN, I'm not sure exactly what the full patch would consist of. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
