Package: texlive-binaries
Version: 2009-12
Severity: normal
File: /usr/share/man/man1/tex.1.gz

Dear Maintainer,

I'm seeing a number of references to "The TeX for nroffbook" in the
tex(1) manpage. It took me a while, but I eventually realized that the
" for nroff" part was probably intended as a comment.

It appears that the offending *roff code is:

,----
| .ie t .ds OX \fIT\v'+0.25m'E\v'-0.25m'X\fP for troff
| .el .ds OX TeX for nroff
`----

and that a similar problem would occur in troff mode (but with with
"for troff" instead of "for nroff").

(I assume the fix is obvious: remove the offending words from each line.)

P.S. I also notice that the formatting of the sample commandline "tex
paper" is not very good.
