yeah.. ugh.. should've not forgotten to post that in the first place. Indeed, the problem now solved itself by updating dpkg from 1.16.0.3 to 1.16.1.2 > Scripts marked executable but without a #! line are given to the shell > (/bin/sh) by default, so I don't think your problem has its root in > vpnc... yes, the new dpkg seems to do that now. Still, having the shebang correct would be a quick fix I guess.
