Further investigation upstream (same bug number) indicates that the driver bug is fixed in Mesa 8, which is already in experimental. Firefox 13, and hopefully also 12, will blacklist nouveau+mesa7 but not nouveau+mesa8. However, it now appears that no change will be made upstream to 10 or 11. What's keeping Mesa 8 out of unstable?
