Package: pm-utils Version: 1.4.1-9 Severity: normal Hi,
For some reason, pm-utils enables wake on LAN on my system by default. I don't think that's a good default -- if you need wake on LAN, you can enable it yourself. Otherwise you're just wasting power. Most people don't need wake on LAN. Although it's great that pm-utils disables wake on LAN when running on battery power, it should not assume that a user wants wake on LAN enabled just because the system is running on AC power. The problem lies in /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/disable_wol. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=sv_SE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pm-utils depends on: ii powermgmt-base 1.31 Versions of packages pm-utils recommends: pn console-tools 1:0.2.3dbs-70 pn hdparm 9.32-1 pn procps 1:3.3.2-3 pn vbetool <none> Versions of packages pm-utils suggests: ii cpufrequtils 007-2 ii ethtool 1:3.1-1 ii radeontool <none> ii wireless-tools 30~pre9-8 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
