As a follow-up, the nicest thing about this dependency is that the ATK-Wrapper is disabled per default per bug 935296.
So what essential functionality of the Java language, or the Java standard library, is implemented via the Gnome Accessibility Toolkit and makes its wrapper, even if disabled, a required dependency?
