Subject: Bug#455824: ksh: "test \( ! -e \)" yields an error
Package: ksh
Version: 93s+20071105-1
Severity: normal
According to POSIX[*], "test \( ! -e \)" is a 4-argument test and is
here equivalent to "test ! -e". But ksh93 yields an error:
$ test \( ! -e \) || echo $?
ksh93: test: argument expected
2
$ test ! -e || echo $?

The "test" utility from the Coreutils is correct:
$ /usr/bin/test \( ! -e \) || echo $?
