The current situation is as follows: One can omit the whole collaborators table using "-P doc.collab.show=0", then he won't see the REFERENCE field. If one uses the collaborators table, he is expected to specify the DocBook pubsnumber element, so that the REFERENCE field gets filled. Thus the REFERENCE label makes sense, it is unrelated to the signature section. Two thoughts directed to Benoit: - Would it be possible to omit the REFERENCE label if the pubsnumber element is missing? I'd assume that usage of the author element is more widespread than usage of the pubsnumber element. An empty table cell would be quite unobstrusive. The "REVIEWED BY" and "APPROVED BY" rows show that optional table elements are possible. - The missing localization of REFERENCE looks like a bug to me, e.g. the german phrase would be "Referenz" respectively "REFERENZ".
