Hello Steve,

this came in to the Debian BTS, cf.
<https://bugs.debian.org/962581> as well as the full list at
<https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?src=tree>.

JFYI and for your consideration.

Package: tree
Version: 1.7.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

My $LS_COLORS:
"no=97:fi=97;40:di=92:ow=92:ex=31:ln=4:su=31;47:bd=30;45:cd=30;41"
(symlinks are underlined and device files have a background color)

To reproduce, run "tree -L 1 /proc/1" or "tree -L 1 /dev".

After showing a file with underline or background color, tree continues to use
the same decorations for the rest of the output. If you run "tree ...; echo
...",
even the output of echo will have the underline/background.
