Package: gcompris
Version: 6.4-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I just installed gcompris with an apt-get and I get this error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp# gcompris
gcompris: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.1.so.0: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

The current binary is linked against libSDL-1.1.so.0, but it has libSDL-1.2
in its depends...

Any idea ?

  Ludo.

No, it isn't. The version of libSDL even shipped in woody was 1.2; and the
dependencies of gcompris 6.4-1 are correct, it depends on libSDL-1.2.so:

$ ldd /usr/games/gcompris|grep SDL
        libSDL_mixer-1.2.so.0 =3D> /usr/lib/libSDL_mixer-1.2.so.0 (0x407680=
00)
        libSDL-1.2.so.0 =3D> /usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0 (0x408f8000)
$

The version of gcompris in stable didn't depend on SDL at all.

I don't know what binary you're running, but it didn't come from the Debian
package. Please check your path for other binaries named "gcompris".
