Installed on hda using option: linux26

Computer: ASUS A7N8X/VM400 (nVidia nForce2), Athlon 2600+, 512 MiB RAM,
120 GB hard disk mounted as IDE1 master.

Problem happens: always.

Partitioning:
hda1 78.13 GiB (previous)
hda5 9.77 GiB (previous)
hda6 25.61 GiB Ext3 /
hda7 1016 MiB Linux swap

GRUB installed on MBR of (hd0)

The installation appears to work fine until GRUB is installed and the
system is rebooted. When rebooting from hda:

GRUB loading stage 1.5.
GRUB loading, please wait...

The HD led stay lit for several seconds, then turns off. The system is
frozen. I cannot boot any longer. I have to restore the MBR from the
backup I've previously made.

Tried to install GRUB on /dev/hda6, but when rebooting:
Disk read error.

Thanks,
    Salvo
