Package: mysql-server
Version: 4.0.24-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Upgrading from 4.0.23-7 hangs up (apparently after stopping and trying
starting, pinging the server does not return with pending processes
running). This is true on two different boxes.
This causes serious trouble if the box restarts,
because startup at level 2 holds on at /etc/init.d/mysql run.
Reinstalling 5.0.23-7 of course solves the issue.
