Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: serious
Justification: Social contract
Please remove scsh versions older than 0.6.4-2 from everywhere (sid,
sarge, woody), for all arches. Do not remove version 0.6.5-2 from sid.
scsh was erroneously uploaded to main by the previous maintainer,
while it still contains non-free files. I have (via my sponsor)
uploaded new versions to unstable (source, i386) to non-free. But, as
the auto-builders are not building non-free files, these versions are
not getting built on the other arches and thus not migrating to
sarge.
(For the record, people are working on tracking all the various
copyright holders / replacing the affected code to make it free
at last.)
I cannot get scsh compiled for all arches it is already in: I don't
have access to machines of the other arches running Debian (not a
DD); I tried to get DDs/porters to do the compilations, no luck. At
the rate things are going, it is becoming painfully clear that having
scsh built for all architectures is not going to happen anytime soon,
but we cannot ship sarge with scsh in main. Hence, the only solution I
see is removal.
