Hmm:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ # grep -v "#" /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ apt-cache show python-apt
Package: python-apt
Priority: optional
Section: python
Installed-Size: 768
Maintainer: APT Development Team <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Architecture: i386
Version: 0.7.2
<snip>

I could download it from

http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/p/python-apt/python-apt_0.7.2_i386.deb

and install it (after I apt-get installed lsb-release).

Maybe it should be provided by another package, but "apt-cache search
python-apt" shows only python-apt and python-apt-dbg. What else do I
need in the sources list?

Many thanks, for help! I'll be offline for 2 weeks.
