About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing a sid i386
environment. Internet was not accessible from the build systems.

This build failure was triggered due to a change in libc6-dev 2.6.1-3
(see http://bugs.debian.org/442418). This was fixed in version 2.6.1-5.
I did builds of libvisual in clean and current sid chroots on amd64 and
i386 that had the current version of libc6-dev installed. I'm thus
closing this bug.

Build logs of both builds can be found at
http://servercare.de/debian/logs/

Regards,
  Sebastian
