Ah, the point being that the libcdio maintainer should have requested binNMUs for the packages that are affected by the soname change him/herself, instead of getting the actual maintainers of the packages involved? Makes sense I guess. Still, from a user's point of view it'd be nice to see this fixed, even if it's not with the "proper" way of fixing it. Anyway, I'll try not to bug you more about this.
