Hi,
This is the start of attempting to remove wxwindows2.4 and related binaries from the archive. There are currently 5 packages with reverse depends
or build-depends. They are as follows:
ctsim. Maintainer would prefer to wait for wx2.8 or 3.0.
jugglemaster. Patched in games team SVN.
newpki-client. Patch sent to maintainer and on BTS.
trustedqsl. NMU prepared.
survex. Bug filed and I am currently trying to build.
Thank you,
Barry deFreese

I'm closing this 'bug' because after talking to Barry on #d-d, it's
plainly evident that he didn't get any further at all with resolving
the outstanding deps, and has given up trying.
If you really want this package removed, the correct thing to do is
discuss this with myself and the maintainers of the remaining apps,
and if that discussion does show this sort of culling will be best,
I'll file a removal request (along with the other maintainers) to
have them _actually_ removed from the archive.
Simply saying that a bug free package won't go on the Lenny CD, may
be the prerogative of the RM's, even to do without ANY public
discussion of the matter. But if they want to exercise that right,
and not turn Lenny into some kind of joke release that a couple of
mates tossed together without talking to anyone else, then I think
it would be better if Luk explains to everyone what he really has
in mind rather than hiding his actions behind sock puppets and
arbitrary elements of 'internal process'.
If his plans are actually good, it will be hard for people not to
agree with them. If they aren't well, suddenly the silence isn't
quite content free...
But this report doesn't explain what they are, or constitute a 'bug'
leave alone a release critical one, so I'm applying a blunt correction
until we have some more useful information.
