Package: emacs22-common-non-dfsg
Version: 22.2+1-1
Severity: serious
The dired-x info file has moved from emacs22-common to
emacs22-common-non-dfsg, but your package does not declare a Conflicts:
or Replaces: on that package, so unpacking it fails if emacs22-common is
not upgraded yet:
,----
| Selecting previously deselected package emacs22-common-non-dfsg.
| (Reading database ... 134024 files and directories currently installed.)
| Unpacking emacs22-common-non-dfsg (from
.../emacs22-common-non-dfsg_22.2+1-1_all.deb) ...
| dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/emacs22-common-non-dfsg_22.2+1-1_all.deb (--unpack):
| trying to overwrite `/usr/share/info/emacs-22/dired-x.gz', which is also in
package emacs22-common
| dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
| Errors were encountered while processing:
| /var/cache/apt/archives/emacs22-common-non-dfsg_22.2+1-1_all.deb
| E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
`----
You need to add a Replaces: emacs22-common (<< 22.2) and probably a
Conflicts: against it as well (otherwise upgrading emacs22-common after
emacs22-common-non-dfsg will lose the entry for dired-x in the info dir
file).

These bugs were fixed in version 22.2+1-2, see the Changelog¹.
Apparently that version was never uploaded and Rob forgot to include it
in the .changes file for 22.2+2-1.
Closing,
