Sorry for the delayed response to this bug report... However, I'm not sure if 
I can do much about it except put a recommendation in README.Debian. Even if 
I increase the timeout to five minutes or more, there's no guarantee that it 
will suffice either. RFC 2821 recommends a timeout of ten minutes and some 
MTAs will give up before that.

When I lowered my bayes_expiry_max_db_size from 1 000 000 to 500 000 on my 
not-so-new computer, sa-learn --force-expire took just over three minutes, so 
it seems a bit strange that an expiry run with a default db size on decent 
hardware with modest load should take over four minutes.
