Hi. I considered uploading the patch in this bug as a NMU, but I feel even with this patch the postinst is broken, just in more subtle ways.
For example if I install this package with DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive I get the following in /etc/mailreader: # ls -l /etc/mailreader/ total 12 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jul 31 20:40 main.cfg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6236 Jul 31 21:40 main.cfg.dpkg-new -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jul 31 20:40 server.cfg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 582 Jul 31 21:40 server.cfg.dpkg-new The code should override the config files on new installs. In fact the package should not ship with 0 byte conffiles and then override them. That looks like another RC bug... So all in all I think this package needs way more fixing to be suitable for release.
