As already diagnosed by Richard going from byacc 20070509-1.1 to 20080826-1 is exactly what triggers the bug. Perhaps there is a regression in byacc? As a hotfix for dovecot could switch to bison instead of byacc. - A simple switch of the b-d will do the trick.
