The compilation problem seems to be due to a broken macro:

(uint16_t)(((uint16_t)(__x) & (uint16_t)0x0000ff00) << 8) | \

I have attached a patch to this email, but I don't have a mips machine to
test it on (casals seems to be down). Could you please confirm that this
patch resolves the compilation error?
