Hi, I cannot reproduce this behaviour on my lenny system. The program starts without errors after install. Please have a look at /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/cairo, which should look like this: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 95904 14. Jan 22:11 _cairo.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 37 6. Jul 2008 __init__.py -> /usr/share/pyshared/cairo/__init__.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 174 15. Jan 06:48 __init__.pyc
If not, try to reinstall python-cairo and see if that fixes your problems: apt-get install --reinstall python-cairo Hope this helps, Bastian
