Hi,

I understand upstream is already working on a mechanism that will
allow shipping a configuration that does not by default require PHP5,
but at the same time is not too complicated on new users. Meanwhile,
we added php5-cgi as a recommends: — This means, it is not absolutely
needed to run Cherokee (you can disable it from the configuration
file), and it is installed by default.

The new Cherokee version fixing this problem (0.99.16-1) is on its way
to Sid, and it will hit Squeeze in ten days if everything goes as
planned.

Thanks a lot,
