Package: lib32nss-mdns Severity: grave
-- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: x86_64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: lang=de...@euro, lc_ctype=de...@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Dear maintainers, I do not want to blame ia32-apt-get, but since I installed this package, lib32nss-mdns was removed and cannot be installed by a dependency problem. I can not figure out, which package is the real reason for this, so please tak a look: ------- LANG=C apt-get install lib32nss-mdns Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: lib32nss-mdns: Depends: libc6-i386 (>= 2.6-1) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages -------- As you see, libc6-i386 is needed in a version higher than 2.6-1, but installed is version 2.9-18, which IS definately higher! Missing lib32nss-mdns breaks third party packages installation of important packages like "googleearth" or "crossover-pro". I think, this should not happen, don't you? Any hints are welcome.
