You are right, from the error message, it is related to PolicyKit. If timidity-daemon is not the origin of the problem, it should be fixed in policykit, feel free to reassign the bug to the appropriate package. See http://hal.freedesktop.org/docs/PolicyKit/ for a description of policykit. I use GNOME, hence have PolicyKit installed on my system.
