Package: libpam-thinkfinger
Version: 0.3+rev118.2-2
Severity: critical
With libpam-thinkfinger installed, cupsd starts to reproducibly
crash when I try to stop or start a printer through the web interface.
Here is a gdb backtrace from cupsd that involves pam_thinkfinger:

This may be caused by libusb functions not being properly protected
by mutexes, but I haven't dug very deeply.
Feel free to ask for more information. I will gladly test patches,
too.

Hi there!
First of all, I am sorry for the long delay in replying: I always
thought of performing another comparison between ThinkFinger and fprint
as I did in the past [1], but then I postponed it because of other
Debian and real life work.
ThinkFinger is dead upstream for quite 2 years now [2] and all the
effort has been put on fprint [3] (available on Debian as well), which
has the advantage of not being focused on a single fingerprint device.
For the reason above, I have closed this bug and I'm asking for
ThinkFinger removal from Debian.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
