* Alan Woodland <alan.woodl...@gmail.com>, 2009-09-19, 23:10:
With the new version of libnetfilter-conntrack these functions seem to
have been removed entierly, and the build now fails:

l7-conntrack.cpp: In function 'int sprintf_conntrack_key(char*,
nfct_conntrack*, unsigned int)':
l7-conntrack.cpp:129: error: 'nfct_sprintf_protocol' was not declared in
this scope
...

That looks very bad.
*Lots* of code that l7-f-u relied on was removed from the library.

If it was deprecated there must be a recommended alternative surely?

Well, there is no documentation (or at least I couldn't find any), and the only remotely relevant comment near the deprecated code was:

Old deprecated API, its use for new applications is *strongly discouraged* Apparently, fixing this bug would require deep understanding of the libnetfilter-conntrack code. That is, it should be done by upstream,
as I don't feel competent to write/maintain such a serious patch.

Do you want to package the kernel module instead?

Not really, but maybe Piotr (CCed) is interested in.
