Thanks for your prompt response.

I removed and replaced with a version from testing, this also required a config 
file update.

I'd be happy to close this bug if the package is updated to depend on an exact 
version of xerces, so nobody else falls for this.

Ongoing Xerces-C transition.  Xerces-C 3.1 was uploaded to unstable, which
changes the namespace for all Xerces-C objects, so the Shibboleth stack
has to be rebuilt.  Unfortunately, there isn't a good way to make that
transition cleanly, since the API of the underlying Shibboleth libraries
changes based on what version of Xerces-C they're built against.

Two of the dependent libraries have been rebuilt and there are two more to
go.  In the meantime, you'll want to use the versions from testing.
