nv problems are well identified, and they are not even fixed in latest nv release, see http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg-announce/2009-December/001219.html nvidia binary problems are impossible to debug, and probably just related to their ugly binary compatibility glue layer not being updated to the new server ABI yet.
