I can confirm this, in particular to be able to compile as needed the
font, the following two files will be needed:
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/tfm/adobe/times/ptmr7t.tfm
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/vf/adobe/times/ptmr7t.vf
and they are both shipped by texlive-fonts-recommended.

It was very useful pointer, but next time please attach a .tex file to
the bug log, it would make much easier for non-Portuguese speaking
people to test your report :-)
