As discussed with the Release team in [1], we do not deem HPPA as an important architechture for this package, since it's to be used in the desktop and we think that the intersection of "users with HPPA as desktop" and "users of K3D" is close to zero, if not zero. It's not clear that Squeeze will release with HPPA port, either [2].
I think that having this bug as "serious" prevents the people migrating packages from considering it, and instead of contacting them I would prefer to lower the priority of this bug. I could upload a fix as suggested by Roland Stigge, but some people in the gcc mailing list are suggesting to enable these flags automatically so packagers and porters don't have to spend time on this. However I don't have time to do this at least in a few days or weeks, therefore I think that the best solution is to lower the priority of this bug so it gets into testing as soon as possible. Any objections? Cheers. [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/08/msg00102.html [2] http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/08/msg00080.html -- Manuel A.
