Package: python-pygoocanvas
Version: 0.10.0-1

Fragment from build log;

checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for PYGOBJECT... yes
checking for xsltproc... /usr/bin/xsltproc
checking for PYGOOCANVAS... configure: error: Package requirements (
                       pygtk-2.0 >= 2.10.0,
                         goocanvas >= 0.10,
                         pycairo >= 1.4.0
                         ) were not met:

Requested 'pycairo >= 1.4.0' but version of Pycairo is 1.2.0

Python-pygoocanvas needs python-cairo >= 1.4.0 but the debian/control
only currently specifies 1.2.0. This doesn't directly effect building
on lenny/sid systems, but for those of us backporting and/or building
on etch this would be nice to be fixed. Thanks!

Version: 0.10.0-2

tags 490180 - squeeze sid
thanks

Since Lenny, the least available version of python-cairo-dev is 1.4.12:

  z...@usha:~$ rmadison python-cairo-dev
   python-cairo-dev | 1.2.0-1    | etch    | all
   python-cairo-dev | 1.4.12-1.2 | lenny   | all
   python-cairo-dev | 1.8.8-1    | squeeze | all
   python-cairo-dev | 1.8.8-1    | sid     | all

Hence the versioned build-dep on python-cairo-dev is entirely redundant
and this bug should be marked as not affecting the version in Squeeze
and Lenny (which I'm doing now).

Just in case: I've also tried package build in Squeeze and it indeed
builds correctly, passing the pycairo check line as follows:

  [...]
  checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
  checking for PYGOBJECT... yes
  checking for xsltproc... /usr/bin/xsltproc
  checking for PYGOOCANVAS... yes
  checking for pygtk codegen... yes
  [...]

Cheers.
