thanks

As gparted does not have parted in its dependency list, this would be a
problem in the gparted package and not in synaptic, so I am reassigning
this bug.

However, gparted is not a front-end to parted, but to libparted. In
fact, libparted is a partitionning library, that has several front-ends:
* parted, which is a command-line-oriented utility;
* gparted, which is a GTK-based graphical interface;
* qtparted, which is a Qt-base graphical interface.

Thus, it is perfectly normal that gparted does not depend on parted, as
it does not need it. It only needs libparted, and it does depend on it.

So I think there is no problem, so I am also closing this bug. If
gparted is unusable on your system, please reopen it by writing
“reopen 602974” to <[email protected]> and please explain what
does not work and what error message you get.

Regards,
