Presumably the bug is the relevant part quoted above (during upgrade dpkg asks about the modified configuration file). This is happening because the lenny version modified /etc/viewvc/viewvc.conf in postinst. Judging by the changelog this was fixed in version 1.1.5-1 so the squeeze version should be OK.
