Thanks for the report. The problem isn't with the check for pthreads per se but rather that libgc doesn't yet support them on kfreebsd-*, a possibility I'd accidentally overlooked when taking advantage of the fact that it now does on hurd-i386. I'll upload a fix when I get a chance, quite possibly tonight. -- Aaron M.
