reassign 638080 ftp.debian.org retitle 638080 RM: cpufire-applet -- dead upstream; blocks GNOME 3 transition thanks
Please remove cpufire-applet from the archive: The last new upstream release uploaded to the Debian archive was from 2009 and the upstream homepage doesn't list any newer releases. The last activity from the Debian maintainer was 2010-03-08. The popcon score is rather low and while visualizing the CPU load as fire is neat, we do have other alternatives for monitoring the CPU usage. This bug has been open since 17 Aug, but got no reply from the Debian maintainer so far, so we don't expect any porting efforts for GNOME 3 any time soon and it's blocking the ongoing GNOME 3 transition now.
