I actually disagree with that.  The package is in mostly fine shape
with one (albeit annoying) significant bug.

Yes, I am quite busy right now.  I simply haven't had a chance to find
a long stretch of hours to spend on debugging this; although Vincent's
patch will certainly help narrow down the scope of what needs looking
at.

I haven't given up on maintaining the package.  In fact, I've made
sure to keep the testing package safe so that if (on the off chance)
this doesn't get fixed by the freeze, that I can do some proposed
updates to get that ready for the release.
