I must admit that I could not reproduce this error, neither with dpkg
-i nor with aptitude install, neither with purging screen before nor
without on a normal.

Which is likely the cause for it.
And since I can imagine cases where $2 is empty this needs to be fixed
anyway, even if I cannot reproduce the effect. The unquoted $2 is
present since one version earlier already. Marking it as found
accordingly.
Interestingly I forgot it only in the debian/config, not in the
debian/preinst, otherwise I likely noticed that myself.
