Package: figlet
Version: 2.2.5-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.2.1

Hello,
while reviewing the debian/copyright file of the (finally back in main!)
figlet package, I noticed two issues.

The first is an inaccurate copying of a license text:

| Files: tests/emboss.tlf
| Copyright: 2006 Sam Hocevar <s...@hocevar.net>
| License: WTFPL-2
| Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim or modified
| copies of this license document, and changing it is allowed as long
| as the name is changed.

This is not the actual text of the WTFPL v2, which is instead
reported at http://sam.zoy.org/wtfpl/COPYING

Please fix the debian/copyright file.

The second issue is the most important one (and it gives the title
to this bug report):

| Files: fonts/8859-*.flc
| Copyright: 1991-2003 Unicode Inc.
| License: other
| This file is provided as-is by Unicode, Inc. (The Unicode Consortium).
| No claims are made as to fitness for any particular purpose. No
| warranties of any kind are expressed or implied. The recipient
| agrees to determine applicability of information provided. If this
| file has been provided on optical media by Unicode, Inc., the sole
| remedy for any claim will be exchange of defective media within 90
| days of receipt.
| .
| Unicode, Inc. hereby grants the right to freely use the information
| supplied in this file in the creation of products supporting the
| Unicode Standard, and to make copies of this file in any form for
| internal or external distribution as long as this notice remains
| attached.

This license fails to meet the DFSG (#3 and #6) and is
GPL-incompatible, as discussed in the following old debian-legal
thread:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2006/01/msg00534.html

Please read that debian-legal thread, as it includes potentially
useful information on how some files copyrighted by Unicode Inc.
may perhaps get re-licensed under DFSG-free terms.

Please try to have those files re-licensed in a DFSG-free manner,
or, failing that, please drop them by re-packing the source
orig.tar.gz archive.

Thanks for your time.

P.S.: in case you are asking yourself, yes, I am the submitter of
the old bug report #274950 (I really care about the freeness
      of figlet!).
