Of course, it had been working fine. I notice that the upgrade modified /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf, among other files, with #mail_location = in place of mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u and then adding namespace { inbox = yes } With either configuration, still, the inbox is not emptied.
