severity 696530 wishlist quit I am resetting the severity to wishlist because this behaviour is compliant with the menu documentation, the Debian menu subpolicy, and the XDG menu specification.
If you do not like the result, just do 'update-menus --remove' and move on. On the other hand, it is not clear gnome-shell is using .desktop entries for purpose compatible with the XDG menu specification.
