Is it possible to upload a properly fixed package into Wheezy as soon as upstream provides a proper patch with minimal to no delay?

I mean, having a package that can destroy the user's hardware shouldn't be in Debian at all, I think. I'd guess people would rather waive for a piece software than risking to brick their (expensive) hardware.

This should be kept open and tagged as critical after Wheezy has been released, so everyone is kept aware of the issue.

For the time being, may I suggest adding an interactive prompt with the warning which has to be acked by the user upon installation (using the debconf mechanism).

Cheers,

Adrian
