There's also #708307, which looks like the same issue; CCing and merging. I'm assuming it also does the same in unstable. In general we prefer issues to be fixed in unstable first, as they're more likely to get testing there and it's much easier to fix a bug in the fix in sid than it is in stable. However, in this case, that's somewhat complicated by the fact that libunwind in unstable doesn't actually build libunwind7 any more, which makes updating it somewhat tricky. If the maintainers do agree that Peter's solution is feasible then reports of testing on stable systems using the p-u package would be appreciated _before_ the point release.
