Sounds like a reasonable plan. The only thing that would deserve some enhancement for the future is that it helps if you publish this plan straight to the bug report a bit earlier because this saves us from developing heart attacks in fearing to loose a package in testing. ;-)
Duly noted. Sorry for wasting some of your time (and your heart!) by not writing my intention about bugs (especially this RC bugs). In fact I wanted to do that much earlier (before the 3.2 release) and publish a patch, which I see now might have been a better way.
I am still learning a lot thanks to debian-med (and still in my MoM in fact!).
