I need to know whether the lockup happened while running the package postinst script, or while creating the initramfs. Also, as user root, please run following commands and tell me if any of them have ill effects (you most certainly don't want to have any important files or programs open while doing this test): modprobe msr modprobe cpuid modprobe microcode (requires package iucode-tool installed, and module cpuid loaded): iucode_tool -vv -S -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
