But AIUI if someone applied only the minimal patch to fix the FTBFS, no
binNMUs would be needed yet?  Woudl it be able to migrate to testing as
part of the libav9 transition?

My thinking is that this is blocking a transition already, so it might
be safer to keep any openescenegraph transition separate.  Especially if
there would be so much involved with that:
